CLAUDE - TRIOSTAR STROMANTHE (CALATHEA FAMILY)
Claude is a stunner, you guys. He has stunning white, pink, and green variegated leaves that look painted. He's pretty easy to care for, as plants in this group (prayer plants, maranta, calathea) go. He's pet friendly.
Light - He likes a sunny, bright spot, with plenty of indirect light (not in a direct sunny southern window - he'll sunburn!).
Watering - Claude likes to stay slightly damp (but not swampy!) and allow the top inch to dry out before watering again. Stick your finger in the pot to check moisture up to the first knuckle. Do not overwater, as this could lead to root rot. In the winter, Claude likes to dry out a little more between waterings, but never ALL the way bone dry like a succulent. He LOVES humidity, so you can mist anytime, or every day!
Trimming - When you have a leaf that is browning, you can remove it, but be careful to check if a new leaf is growing there, and not snip the new leaf along with the old!
